For those that are more inclined, there are 8 miles of designated hiking trails wandering along the creeks and lakeshores. The lake trail will traverse the proposed Town Center which will be a mixed-use development with flats, shops, restaurants, convenience stores, and more. The Nature Trail criss-crosses flowing rocky streams and leads you through a wooded wonderland.
The current Swim/Tennis Center at Red Cloud Park was updated in 2000. The unique, oversized "arrowhead" shaped pool is home to our community swim team and enjoyed by all. The gazebo with picnic area makes this location great for family gatherings, especially on Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day Weekends. There are four lighted hardcourt tennis courts used by all levels of tennis players. Organized play is available on a daily basis. Lake Arrowhead is home to the USTA Mountain League Mixed Doubles Champions. The Red Cloud Park facility will be expanded to ten courts at a future date. Private tennis lessons are available, as are the Wednesday Doubles Game Improvement Drills in the Spring and early Fall. Resident tennis players participate in regular Round Robins on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
The best is yet to come! The Great Festival Park still plans a one-acre, free-form fantasy pool area on the 40-acre site. A spacious play lawn, playground with tumble hill, basketball court, and batting cage along with a fantastic lap pool have already been completed. This will be one of the finest and most complete swim park facilities of its kind in metro Atlanta.
